| Two species of pterobranchs, namely Cephalodiscus (Cephalodiscus) hodgsoni Ridewood and C. (Orthoecus) solidus Andersson were found in 1979 by the Third Antarctic Expedition of the Polish Academy of Sciences off the Napier Rock, Admiralty Bay, King George Island (South Shetland Islands, West Antarctica), at the depth of 65-140 m. The characters of both species are described with a special reference to the foreign material incorporated into coenecium. The specimens collected will be used for further studies on the fine structure of coenoecia and zooids. |
